Recipe Ghent's beef stew
Ingredients:
Beef stew
Onion
Hazelnutbutter
Bouquet garni (thyme, laurel, parsley)
Pepper and salt
Cherry beer/ dark table beer/ Westmalle dubbel (dark)
Bread
Mustard from Ghent (Tierenteyn)
Rock sugar
Preparation:
Chop the onion and stew in butter.
Season the meat with pepper and salt and sear it in hazelnutbutter.
Add the meat to the onion and add the beers.
Add bouquet garni, pepper and salt.
Shortly bring to a boil and turn down the heat (simmer).
Spread mustard on the bread and put it on the meat.
Leave it to stew long time (1,5 to 2 hours) until the meat is ready.
